The Miami baseball teams traveled to Gainesville with a 4-0 record following a three-game sweep of Rutgers last weekend and a victory over Florida Atlantic on Wednesday night. The Hurricanes made it five straight wins to start 2019 with a victory in the series opener against Florida Friday night.
Miami got on the board first in the series opener. First basemen Alex Toral hit his national-leading fifth home run of the season in the second inning to plate himself and designated hitter Anthony DelCastillo.
Florida tied it with single runs in the fourth and sixth.
