Miami baseball alum Alex Cora wins World Series as Red Sox Manager

The Red Sox won their fourth World Series title in the last 15 years. Cora and the Red Sox defeated another Miami baseball alum Yasmani Grandal who is the catcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers in five games. The Dodgers lost in the World Series for the second year in a row.

Boston went through the postseason losing one game in each series and going 11-3 in the playoffs. Cora led the Red Sox to 108 wins this season. That was five games better than the defending World Series Houston Astros who had MLB’s second-best record.
