The midseason firing of Al Golden took a toll on the Hurricanes recruiting class, with Miami losing several committed prospects in the weeks after Golden's dismissal.
But with new Hurricanes coach Mark Richt putting an immediate focus on recruiting, there's hope that class will remain one of the nation's best, with one prospect -- Santaluces linebacker Zach McCloud -- even recommitting to the Hurricanes on Friday night.
The move was not unexpected. McCloud, like several other Miami recruits, never closed the door completely on the program and opted to wait and see who Golden's replacement would be.
