With less than two weeks left before one of the Hurricanes’ most highly-anticipated season openers in recent memory, coach Mark Richt is determined to make sure his team is ready for its top-25 showdown against LSU on Sept. 2.
And so, the veteran coach on Wednesday decided to put his players through a situation that was all too familiar to those on the roster last year.
During a closed, situational scrimmage on Wednesday at Southridge High in Miami, Richt simulated the Hurricanes’ need to come back from a 17-0 halftime deficit, complete with quarterback Malik Rosier needing to lead the offense down the field during a last-minute drive with no timeouts.
