It was a rough start for the position group, with Dan Enos stating his quarterbacks are “Not near where we need to be, not near that championship level.” It warranted many questions surrounding the starting quarterback race, as Enos’ statement applied to all candidates for the job.
Fast forward to Miami’s second scrimmage, and things are finally starting to gel for the ‘Canes.
In an interview on WQAM following the second scrimmage, Diaz said that the quarterbacks know “where to go with the ball,” a promising sign.
Not all of Miami’s quarterbacks performed well, however, as Tate Martell completed just 4 of 11 passes.
