The University of Miami, known more for football than basketball, is making its first men’s NCAA Tournament Final Four appearance in school history.
The Hurricanes (29-7) play Connecticut (29-8) at 8:49 p.m. Saturday at NRG Stadium in Houston.
Coach Jim Larrañaga, who, at 73 years old would be the oldest coach to win a national championship, is making his second Final Four appearance. He miraculously took tiny George Mason University to the Final Four in 2006.
