Hurricanes legend Bernie Kosar placed a bet that appears to have cost him more than money.
The Cleveland Browns fired the UM legend from his position as a team radio broadcaster, Kosar said on Twitter.
Kosar’s dismissal comes just days after he said he placed a bet on the team, according to multiple reports. Kosar tweeted that he was told Sunday that his “services are no longer desired or needed.”
“I am shocked & disappointed,” Kosar wrote.
Kosar, who led the Hurricanes to the program’s first national championship in 1983, said on The Bernie Kosar Show earlier in the week on that he bet $19,000 on the Browns-Steelers game.
