Winning a national award is a huge milestone for any player, especially when you’re the first at your school to do it.
“It’s a tremendous honor for me,” Borregales told ESPN. “I put in a lot of work to be where I am today. I’m just happy it’s finally paying off.”
One of the most impressive areas within Miami’s program in 2020 was special teams. Borregales and punter Lou Hedley proved to be a dynamic kicking duo throughout the season, both of them coming to UM by way of the transfer portal.
Miami’s punting was one of the worst in the country in 2018.
