Jay Larranaga played 13 years professionally. He was one of Jim Larranaga’s best players during his four seasons at Bowling Green. Jay graduated in 1997 after averaging 11.3 points per game in college. He was also the captain of the Irish National Team from 2001-06.
Larranaga has spent time in his coaching career as the Head Coach of the Irish National Team, an assistant at Cornell, the Head Coach of the Erie Bayhawks in the NBA Development League.
He has spent the last six seasons as an assistant with the Boston Celtics under Brad Stevens. He interviewed for the Celtics job in 2013 that eventually went to Stevens.
