The University of Miami has agreed in principle to a two-year contract extension with men’s basketball coach Jim Larrañaga.
Larranaga’s new deal, which was announced by UM Director of Athletics Blake James on Tuesday, runs through through May 31, 2024.
“Coach Larranaga is an integral part of our athletics department’s success, and he continues to demonstrate year after year that he is one of the best basketball coaches in the nation,” James said in a statement.
In seven seasons at Miami, Larranaga has a 161-79 record, including a 75-49 mark in ACC play. He has led Miami to four NCAA Tournament appearances, including a pair of Sweet 16 berths.
