Jim Larranaga continues to set standards with Miami Hurricanes

Saturday’s Miami Hurricanes victory over Boston College was their 20th of the season. They reached that milestone for the sixth time in Larranaga’s seven seasons. Miami is also on pace to reach their fourth NCAA Tournament in Larranaga’s tenure and third in a row.

The three straight NCAA Tournament appearances would only be the second time in program history Miami has accomplished that feat. Leonard Hamilton led Miami to three straight NCAA Bids from 1998-2000.

Before Larranaga arrived in Coral Gables, Miami had only been invited to the NCAA Tournament six times in 49 seasons. The six 20 win seasons under Larranaga also matched the previous amount of 20 win seasons since Miami basketball returned in 1985.
