The NCAA announced earlier this month that it is moving six sports, including the first and second round of the NCAA tournament that was scheduled for Greensboro out of North Carolina. According to the NCAA Press release “The only championship events that can be hosted in North Carolina this academic year are those that are decided when student-athletes earn the opportunity to play a championship on their own campus.”
Clemson President James Clements who is the Chair of the ACC Council of Presidents said: “The decision to move the neutral site championships out of North Carolina while HB 2 remains the law…is consistent with the shared values of inclusion and non-discrimination at all of our institutions.
