After getting hurt in the Orange Bowl, Hurricanes cornerback Malek Young was able to walk off the field and into the locker room.
In the days and weeks after that December night, though, Young was given devastating news. The neck injury he suffered in that game would not only require surgery, but the procedure would end his football career.
After that diagnosis, the former Coconut Creek High All-American received an outpouring of support and encouragement from teammates, coaches and Miami fans, many of whom publicly shared messages for Young on social media.
