As Miami awaits decisions by Mario Cristobal and Dan Radakovich, another big-name coach has emerged as a potential, fallback candidate.
Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy has been in the background for a while, but could be open to leaving for Coral Gables if Cristobal doesn’t want the job, a source said. Oklahoma State team lost the Big-12 championship game to Saturday on a late goal-line stand by Baylor.
Gundy, 47, has won consistently in 17 years at Oklahoma State. Only Nick Saban and Dabo Swinney have more 10-win seasons since 2010 than Gundy’s seven. Saban has 11 at Alabama and Swinney with nine.
