MIAMI GARDENS — Funny thing. The University of Miami had only one actual opponent Saturday in winning a third straight game and keeping it season on the track toward a possible good ending:
“Quite an extraordinary game,’’ Miami coach Manny Diaz said in his opening comment after the 33-30 win against Georgia Tech. “I’m just proud of our team for finding a way to win a game that, um, you see the kind of things that allowed Georgia Tech to stay close.”
Usually, the margin of error is measured in any victory. But it was like Miami was testing the bounds of such idea.
