MIAMI GARDENS — Miami sophomore tight end Elijah Arroyo will miss the remainder of the season, UM coach Mario Cristobal said after UM’s loss to North Carolina on Saturday.
“He had a pretty significant injury,” Cristobal said.
Arroyo played in Miami’s first four games this season, making five catches for 66 yards this season.
Arroyo was a four-star prospect coming out of Texas’ Independence High.
With Arroyo out, tight ends Will Mallory and Jaleel Skinner combined for 11 catches for 155 yards on Saturday.
“He’s the best,” Mallory said. ”Best teammate, on and off the field.
