Williams didn’t play in UM’s win over Virginia Tech on Saturday at Hard Rock Stadium after appearing to hurt his groin in the second quarter of Miami’s game against Florida State on Nov. 13.
The injury seemed to come during an FSU drive midway through the second quarter. Williams returned to the game against the Seminoles’ on their next possession, but aggravated the groin injury with a couple of minutes left in the second quarter, hobbling toward UM’s sideline before trainers checked him out on the field.
Williams, who was a five-star prospect out of Plantation’s American Heritage, played in all 10 of UM’s games leading into Saturday and made seven consecutive starts.
