Hurricanes reportedly adding longtime defensive coordinator, but not for team’s newly vacant DC role

The Miami Hurricanes are reportedly adding a longtime college football defensive coordinator to their staff, but not for the team’s recently vacated defensive coordinator position.

Shoop, 54, has 32 years of coaching experience. He has been a defensive coordinator at Mississippi State (2018-19), Tennessee (2016-17), Penn State (2014-15), Vanderbilt (2011-13) William & Mary (2007-10), Villanova (1997) and his alma mater Yale (1994-96).
