WASHINGTON --- Angel Rodriguez struggled along with most of his teammates in Miami’s regular-season finale at Virginia Tech on Saturday.
The senior point guard had no such problems in a rematch with the Hokies in the ACC tournament quarterfinals Thursday.
Rodriguez keyed an early second-half run for the Hurricanes and finished with 19 points and nine assists as third-seeded Miami claimed an 88-82 victory over sixth-seeded Virginia Tech.
Sheldon McClellan scored 21 points for the Hurricanes (25-6), who trailed briefly early in the second half before blistering the Hokies (19-14) with a barrage of 3-pointers to seize control.
