After a disappointing 2022 season, the Miami Hurricanes had their first coaching change of the offseason.
Quarterbacks coach and passing-game coordinator Frank Ponce left the Miami staff on Monday after one season to become the new offensive coordinator at Appalachian State.
Ponce has an extensive history at the Sun Belt program. He was the Mountaineers’ co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach from 2013-2018 and, after a two-year stint at Louisville, spent the 2021 season as Appalachian State’s offensive coordinator.
“I’m truly excited to be back on the mountain,” Ponce said in a press release. “Boone holds many wonderful memories and moments for me, and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to make more.
