CORAL GABLES — Quarterback Jake Garcia started his first career game against Virginia on Saturday, but there is still a question as to whether his second career start will immediately follow.
Injured starter Tyler Van Dyke has been “improving,” Miami Hurricanes coach Mario Cristobal said.
“He’s looking better and better every single day,” Cristobal said. “We enter this week preparing him to play, with preparing Jake to play and preparing Jacurri [Brown] to play.”
Garcia went 15 for 29 for 125 yards in the win over the Cavaliers. He did not throw an interception but did not have a touchdown, either.
