Hurricanes quarterback Jarren Williams turns focus to 2019 after challenging freshman season

Through the first two weeks of spring practice, Mike Harley has caught passes from all of the Hurricanes top quarterbacks, including N’Kosi Perry, who started six games for Miami last year and Ohio State transfer Tate Martell, who arrived in Coral Gables to challenge for the starting job.

And while Harley has praised them all, he couldn’t help but smile when describing what he’s seen from redshirt freshman Jarren Williams, the talented former four-star prospect who barely saw the field last year, despite Miami’s quarterback woes.

“Jarren’s just blossomed,” said Harley, a junior, who himself sometimes felt like an underutilized member of the Hurricanes’ offense in 2018.
