Miami Hurricanes quarterback Tyler Van Dyke has improved since suffering an injury against Duke, but Miami has not decided who will start against Virginia on Saturday, coach Mario Cristobal said Wednesday.
“Tyler has improved a bunch. Status: still unknown,” Cristobal said. “We’ll determine that a little bit later.”
Cristobal said the team hopes to know more about Van Dyke’s injury status on Friday.
If Van Dyke cannot play, redshirt freshman Jake Garcia will make his first career start. Cristobal said Garcia has taken the majority of first-team snaps in practice this week.
