CORAL GABLES — For Miami, this performance was almost cathartic.
A night after being shut out for the first time this season and mustering just two hits in a loss to the same Columbia team they faced Monday, the Hurricanes' offense came alive in a big way just when they needed it most — and Miami's players weren't shy about showing just what this game meant to them.
Facing elimination in the NCAA Tournament, the Hurricanes scored early and often, clinching their 28th regional championship with a 21-3 win over Columbia at Mark Light Field on Monday night.
