Miami freshman linebacker Wesley Bissainthe was injured in a fatal car crash on Friday, according to a report from the Miami Herald.
The crash resulted in the death of the other car’s driver, 52-year-old Saul Dauphin, according to a Miami-Dade Police news release.
Bissainthe, who was a passenger in one of the cars, suffered a cut on his ankle that required stitches, according to the Herald.
A UM spokesperson did not respond to a request for comment.
According to Miami-Dade Police, Dauphin was driving east on Ives Dairy Road while another car, driven by 18-year-old Zaylan Reese and reportedly carrying Bissainthe, was driving west.
