Miami Hurricanes second-year running back Donald Chaney Jr. appears to be on track to return by UM’s Sept. 4 opener against Alabama in Atlanta.
“I think the news has been encouraging, considering Don and his availability for the opener,” said coach Manny Diaz at Saturday’s Paradise Camp about Chaney, who had surgery on a shoulder that was bothering him between last season and the past spring.
Also asked about offensive lineman Jakai Clark, who was injured in an April car accident, Diaz indicated his status may be in question for the start of the season.
