Less than a week after being named the new head coach at Temple and helping the Owls secure recruits ahead of the Early Signing Period , Miami’s outgoing defensive coordinator was back in Coral Gables, helping the Hurricanes prepare for their game Thursday against Wisconsin in the Pinstripe Bowl.
There was a day of game-planning with his fellow Miami coaches, some of whom he’d hoped to take with him to Temple before they opted to stay with the Hurricanes. There were several practices with his Miami players, the ones he’d publicly praised as being his “warriors” during his introductory news conference in Philadelphia.
