As the Hurricanes continue moving through spring practice, Manny Diaz concedes it’s tough, this early, without contact, to get a true gauge of which players will be able to make an impact on next year’s defense.
But he is confident Miami has talent to match the kind of success it had last year, even after the Hurricanes’ defensive line went through some major wholesale changes.
“I look at it as the exact same situation we were in this time two years ago, when nobody really knew anybody we had on our defensive line and they were all sort of sophomores-to-be and unknown quantities and we played with a little bit of a chip on our shoulder in 2016 and it turned out pretty good.
