The Hurricanes avoided a sweep by defeating the North Carolina State Wolfpack 7-5 on Sunday.
The Wolfpack took an early lead in the bottom of the first after a two-run homerun to leftfield.
In the top of the second Miami managed to respond. Romy Gonzalez reached on an error and then moved to second after an errant throw. Gonzalez then moved to third when Michael Burns hit a groundout. Another hit from Brandon Gali, this time a RBI single, scored Romy Gonzalez from third. Brandon Gali then stole second, and two consecutive walks from Randy Batista and Chris Barr loaded the bases for Joe Gomez.
