The past week for the University of Miami football program has been wild enough to fill a full-length movie and have theatergoers refilling their popcorn as they await the sequel. We even could rate it R — children under 17 require an accompanying parent or adult guardian — as nudity and a sex scene were part of the buildup.
A little more than an hour before the clock struck midnight on Sunday, the university announced it had named former UM defensive coordinator Manny Diaz the new head football coach of the Miami Hurricanes, just 10 hours after coach Mark Richt unexpectedly announced his retirement.
