The Miami Hurricanes dropped to 27-16 (15-15 ACC) with a 14-3 series opening loss to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Friday night. The Hurricanes allowed 17 hits and seven walks as a staff on Friday night, while Miami’s offense managed just seven hits for the evening.
Miami got out to an early lead for the evening. Three straight singles scored the first run of the game for the Hurricanes and gave Miami starter Alex McFarlane an early 1-0 lead after one inning.
McFarlane pitched well until Georgia Tech put together an eight run inning in the top of the third.
