In the minutes after another ugly, embarrassing nationally televised loss, Hurricanes coach Mark Richt was introspective and critical of his own performance. Athletic director Blake James felt the need to post a statement on Twitter calling Miami’s showing in the Pinstripe Bowl “unacceptable” and several frustrated players openly spoke their minds.
All of it stemmed from a 35-3 loss to Wisconsin that not only marked the low point of a disappointing season that fell well below expectations, but also, most likely, was the lowest point of Richt’s three-year tenure at Miami.
