Former Miami Hurricanes standout Pat Burrell will receive one of college baseball’s top honors when he is inducted into the Omaha College Baseball Hall of Fame.
It was announced Thursday he will officially join the 2017 class on July 1 during the College Home Run Derby. Burrell, who will be honored alongside USC’s Fred Lynn, is just the second person affiliated with UM to receive the accolade. He joins coach Ron Fraser, who was inducted last summer.
This is just the Hall of Fame’s second year of existence but it already includes greats such as Barry Bonds, Robin Ventura and Will Clark.
