Jim Larrañaga and Katie Meier will be making changes to their respective staffs after both Hurricanes basketball coaches saw former assistants leave the Miami program this week to take jobs as head coaches.
Former men’s assistant coach Michael Huger was introduced as the coach at Bowling Green on Friday, the same day former women’s assistant coach Darrick Gibbs was named the new coach at UNF.
Both assistants had longstanding relationships with Miami’s head coaches with Huger playing for Larrañaga at Bowling Green from 1989-93 before joining spending eight years as an assistant coach with Larrañaga, including four years at Miami.
