Robert Marve, the former Miami quarterback whose career was derailed by persistent off-the-field issues, is once again in legal trouble. The Hillsborough County state’s attorney has filed domestic violence charges against Marve for an alleged May 27 assault on an ex-girlfriend. The county issued a warrant for Marve’s arrest and the 29-year-old turned himself in the Orient Road Jail in Tampa.
Marve’s arraignment has been scheduled for Oct. 25.
Marve is facing three charges after Channing Tomes, Marve’s ex-girlfriend, alleges Marve bit her lip, knocked her unconscious and sexually assaulted her. The state’s attorney has charged Marve with battery domestic violence, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and false imprisonment.
