Former Miami Hurricanes defensive tackle Russell Maryland will be inducted into the Orange Bowl Hall of Fame on Friday.
Maryland helped lead the Hurricanes to two national championships from 1988-90. After finishing his UM career with 279 tackles, 20.5 sacks and earning All-American honors as a senior, he was the first overall pick by the Dallas Cowboys in the 1991 NFL draft. He is one of just two Hurricanes taken at the No. 1 spot, joining Vinny Testaverde in 1987.
Maryland, who played 10 NFL season, participated in the 1988 and 1989 Orange Bowls.
