He used to be a Gator.
But junior Danny Reyes is plenty happy to be back home and playing for the University of Miami.
Reyes, a 6-2, 215-pound junior who played his freshman year with the Gators before transferring to Broward College last season, was named the Atlantic Coast Conference’s Player of the Week on Monday after totaling a team-best eight hits, four RBI, four doubles and a two-run home run in the opening series last weekend against Rutgers.
Reyes, who was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the 39th round of the 2015 Major League Baseball draft, grew up in Miami Springs and graduated from Mater Academy in Hialeah.
