Not long after he got off the bus that brought him from Miami’s lush Coral Gables campus to the Richmond Heights neighborhood where he grew up, Jaquan Johnson made a beeline to the sign-up tent at Mark Richt’s latest youth camp.
While some of his teammates milled about waiting for directions on where to go and what to do, Johnson — a second-team All-American safety last year and one of the leaders of the Hurricanes defense — grabbed a pen and himself began the work of making sure his two nephews would be able to participate in the camp he’d be helping run early on this Tuesday morning.
