For 'Canes, time to balance bowl fun with prepping for West Virginia

For two weeks, they’ve practiced on their field. They’ve trained in their weight room. Team meetings have been in familiar surroundings and after exams were wrapped up, the focus has been entirely on preparing for their appearance in next week’s Russell Athletic Bowl.

But Friday, the Hurricanes will head to Orlando, where they’ll continue preparing for West Virginia while balancing the fun that comes with a bowl game at one of the nation’s top cities for tourists.

“I think they’re all taking it seriously,” Hurricanes coach Mark Richt said during a Friday morning radio interview with WQAM 560’s Joe Rose.
