For the Miami Hurricanes, the past two months have been a whirlwind.
The football team returned from New York and their Pinstripe Bowl loss to Wisconsin in December humbled and unsure what changes might befall the program, which fell well below expectations in 2018.
But it’s unlikely any of them could have predicted what would have happened next, with former coach Mark Richt abruptly retiring and former defensive coordinator Manny Diaz returning to Miami after a (very brief) stint as Temple’s coach.
In his short time as Hurricanes coach, Manny Diaz has made sweeping changes, from hiring and firing coaching staff to scouring the country for top-notch transfers he thinks can quickly help Miami address some of its most pressing needs.
