The Miami Dolphins cut 11 players Sunday, including wide receiver LaRon Byrd, the former University of Miami standout, to get the roster down to 77 players. Rosters have to be trimmed to 75 by 4 p.m. Monday.
Also cut were tight end Gerell Robinson, center/guard J.D. Walton, defensive tackle Calvin Barnett, guard Bryant Browning, wide receiver Kevin Cone, defensive end Ray Drew, wide receiver Tyler McDonald, defensive end Kendall Montgomery, cornerback Sammy Seamster and safety Phillip Thomas.
Byrd was in a tight battle among a veteran wide receivers group.
