Walt Disney World will begin its much-anticipated reopening on May 20 with a phased opening of Disney Springs, its retail-restaurant-entertainment complex, the company announced late Thursday afternoon. The resort, including its theme parks, has been shut down since mid-March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“Disney Springs will begin to reopen in a way that incorporates enhanced safety measures, including increased cleaning procedures, the use of appropriate face coverings by both cast members and guests, limited-contact guest services and additional safety training for cast members," Matt Simon, vice president for Disney Springs, wrote in a post on the official Disney Parks Blog.
