CHARLOTTE — Mike Norvell has been Florida State’s head coach for only two seasons, but he already has found himself as the Big Three’s elder statesman.
With Florida firing Dan Mullen and Miami firing Manny Diaz, the third-year coach is the longest-tenured coach at the state’s traditional powers.
“Being at Florida State, we get to play both in-state rivalry games, and it’s exciting,” Norvell said at the ACC’s media days on Wednesday. “It’s why you come here. You want to have an opportunity to compete against those programs, and we’re looking forward to it.”
