When the Hurricanes and new apparel outfitter Adidas unveiled Miami's new look at a splashy party on South Beach this past July, the new uniforms were generally well received.
What wasn't included on that first look was the font that would be used for players' names on the uniform nameplates. When those debuted in the Hurricanes' season opener against Bethune-Cookman earlier this month, well, that response wasn't so great.
In fact, most fans -- and college football observers nationwide--took to social media to mock the font, which included a mix of both upper and lowercase letters.
And after three weeks, it seems the loud chorus of disapproval was heard with Miami athletic director Blake James taking to Twitter on Tuesday to announce the school was going to make a slight change to the uniform.
