On Wednesday afternoon, two days after clinching the regional championship and two days before hosting VCU in a super regional that will send the winner to the College World Series, the Hurricanes were back to work at Mark Light Field doing something a little different.
Yes, they were practicing, but this workout included some special guests – a team of players from OPA, a Miami-Dade school for special needs individuals.
And as the afternoon continued, it was hard to tell which team was having more fun --the hard-hitting college baseball team looking for its first berth in Omaha since 2008 or the young team clad in gray and yellow, coincidentally colors similar to the ones Miami’s opponent – VCU – will wear this weekend.
