With the Hurricanes not scheduled to play again until Oct. 1 when they travel to Cincinnati, Miami coach Al Golden said after his team’s 36-33 overtime win over Nebraska that this week is a perfect time for the Hurricanes to make corrections – and for players to impress their coaches.
Though Miami enters its bye week with a perfect 3-0 record, the team struggled at times against both FAU and Nebraska, its offense still working on third down issues and its defense giving up 23 unanswered fourth-quarter points against Nebraska, which forced overtime.
“I don’t know if a coach ever sees it any other way than to be victorious and to at the same time, be fixing issues,” Golden said Sunday when asked if he felt his team was where it should be through three games.
