Before the 2011-12 season, only twice in the then-turbulent program’s history had the Canes beaten Duke. Jim Larranaga was set to change that.
February 4, 2012 was a historic win for the Canes, as they beat Duke for just the third time, and the first time in Durham. Reggie Johnson had a double-double with a career high 27 point to go along with 12 rebounds.
January 23, 2013 featured an utter blowout. The Canes, ranked 25th in the nation, curb-stomped the Blue Devils, ranked number 1, 90-63. Durrand Scott led the way with 25 points, while Trey McKinney-Jones, Shane Larkin and Kenny Kadji filled with 10, 18, and 22 respectively.
