The 1987 Miami Hurricanes finished 12-0 and dominated the majority of their schedule en rout to UM’s second National Championship in the 80’s. Coached by Jimmy Johnson, Miami only played in three games decided by less than 10 points.
One of those blowouts came at the hands of the Florida Gators. Miami’s ‘other rivalry’ after Florida State, the Gators had been the big brother in the 70’s pulling off seven wins in a row, and nine wins over a 10 year stretch.
