'Canes expect some injured players back against Notre Dame

Less than a week ago the Hurricanes took the field against Virginia Tech as a battered, depleted team missing several starters.

Now, as Miami continues preparing for Saturday's game at Notre Dame -- where the Hurricanes will seek to snap a three-game losing streak -- it seems the team is getting healthier.

Starting defensive end Chad Thomas, who did not travel to Blacksburg and has been dealing with a broken hand, was participating in position drills during the media viewing portion practice Tuesday morning in Coral Gables.
