The Hurricanes will be without defensive tackle Courtel Jenkins on Saturday afternoon when they take on Virginia for a chance to become bowl eligible.
Jenkins did not travel to Charlottesville with the Hurricanes, a source told the Sun Sentinel on Saturday, saying it was a coaches' decision to leave the 6-foot-2, 320-pound junior in South Florida.
Jenkins, who missed two games earlier this year with a knee injury, has eight tackles this year. He didn't record a tackle in Miami's last three games, but was whistled for a personal foul -- his third of the year -- in Miami's 51-28 win over Pittsburgh last week.
